Janelle MacKinnon

Owner-Occupational Therapist

Janelle MacKinnon is the sole owner of Ergoconcepts. She has been practicing occupational therapy in the work rehabilitation sector since 1991. In 1998, she obtained her diploma in health sciences from the University of Moncton in New Brunswick. In 1991, she obtained her bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy from Laval University.

Janelle has held positions in the Workplace Health, Safety, and Compensation Commission of New Brunswick as a clinician and consultant in a case management team. She has also served in private rehabilitation centers as an occupational therapist and clinical manager.

Janelle’s expertise stands out by her numerous years of experience with clients presenting with a long-term absence from the workplace. Shortly after founding her company in 2005, she developed the Occupational Reactivation Program to take on clients with more complex needs. Janelle enjoys being on the field to complete ergonomic analyses, to speak on prevention in the workplace, or to assist clients in meeting daily challenges in their residential or community setting. Her rich background in the occupational therapy profession has allowed her to develop good management and interaction skills with service users and their families, other health professionals, and community resources.

In addition to in-clinic services, Janelle travels within the Outaouais and National Capital regions to provide assessment and consultation services in the workplace, at the client’s home, and on the road for functional assessments of clients’ driving abilities.

Janelle is a member in good standing of the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists and the Ordre des Ergothérapeutes du Québec. She has written and verbal language proficiency in both official languages of Canada.

Maryline Prescott

Occupational Therapist

In 2012, Maryline obtained her master’s degree in occupational therapy from the University of Montreal. She has been practicing occupational therapy in the work rehabilitation sector since 2013.

Maryline’s expertise stands out by her experience in various private clinics with clients presenting with physical and mental health issues. Her skills and experience in working with multidisciplinary teams have allowed her to work alongside psychologists, physiotherapists, kinesiologists, and osteopaths.

Wishing to broaden her field of expertise in the private sector, Marilyne joined the Ergoconcepts team in 2016. Her experience has enabled her to gradually integrate a clientele with more complex health dynamics into the occupational reactivation program.

In the clinic, Maryline develops treatment plans aimed at establishing a healthy and balanced lifestyle routine and integrates management tools and strategies to optimize her clients’ emotional, cognitive, and physical dimensions. She also develops functional physical and cognitive exercise circuits as well as work simulations according to the return-to-work plan. Her unparalleled organizational skills and comprehensive approach are essential assets in helping her clients actively re-engage in their occupational spheres.

In addition to in-clinic services, Maryline travels within the Outaouais and National Capital regions to provide assessment and consultation services in the workplace, at the client’s home, and on the road for functional assessments of clients’ driving abilities.

Maryline is a member in good standing of the Ordre des Ergothérapeutes du Québec as well as the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario. She has written and verbal language proficiency in both official languages of Canada.
